Vacuum Press

Membrane vacuum press is a machine for PVC coating on wood. This machine is capable of coating MDF, wood and plastic sheets and so on.

Membrane or vacuum press is manufactured as a single- or dual-tray machine. The single-tray machine is produced as box or elevator vacuum presses while the dual-tray press is manufactured as a movable table or furnace (oven).

Vacuum pump and its types

Vacuum pump plays a key role in membrane vacuum press. There are various types of vacuum pump including water-circulating, dry or air-circulating and oil-circulating pumps. Since this operation involves coating and adhering a coating on the top of it, the vacuum pump is used to take and adhere a layer on the MDF sheets by thermoforming.Membrane or vacuum glue is, in fact, polyurethane glue, but acrylic glues are used in some cases.Polyurethane glue is thermally activated and then a one-component or two-component isocyanate hardener is added to the glue.

What is a vacuum press forming machine?

Vacuum press machines are also known as vacuum press, membrane press, membrane vacuum press, wagon vacuum press, elevator vacuum press, rail vacuum press, box vacuum press and shellfish vacuum press in the wood industry.

By heat generation in furnace (oven) chamber and discharging air into the chamber, the heated workpiece is formed by thermoforming.

How does forming vacuum press work?

The size of the worktable manufactured according to available standard is 260×125 and 260×140. HHH HHHHHHHH HHHHHHH (HHHH) HHHHHHHHH HHHHH HHH HHHHHHHHH HHH HHH HHHHHH HHHH forms the workpiece by suction. Silicon is coated on the frame of vacuum press machine for sealing of the worktable.

How does a vacuum press work?

First, the surface of workpiece is completely cleaned and then coated by spraying an adhesive layer. Then, it is placed in a tray and a PVC layer is coated on the tray and its surroundings are closed to prevent air leakage. The tray is then placed under the heating elements and the coating is heated depending on thickness. The polyurethane glue is activated by heat. By heating the glue and coating, the flexibility of vacuum pump coating leads to adhesion of coating on the wood surface.

The membrane press is able to coat raw MDF sheets. A PVC layer is coated on MDF sheets by three conventional methods.

Roll Press

This machine with a variety of types is, in fact, a production line and will be discussed in Articles Section. In general, this machine is only used for mass production of raw MDF or porous MDF sheets. In other words, a PVC layer cannot be coated by a roll press machine on the MDF sheets that had been previously processed and designed by a CNC machine.

MDF Hot Press Machine

Hot press is considered a workshop machine. Despite a relatively high speed, it does not considered a production line like the roll press machine.

The hot press machine is usually used for Letron, melamine, high gloss, PVC and natural coating.

Vacuum Press Machine

There are many applications for the membrane press machine. This machine can be used for facile coating of the MDF sheets that motifs have been previously created on them by a CNC machine. The PVC coating can be stretched to the edges of the MDF sheets to give a special beauty to the products. The vacuum press is also used in other industrial applications. Most materials that can be formed by thermoforming can be produced by the vacuum press machines. For instance, crane rocks can be formed by this method to produce uniform sinks.
